A Chinese manager at a mid-sized company was referred to Angelika Blendstrup & Associates because her colleagues and clients felt she was communicating poorly due to improper English business writing. Her co-workers commented that her emails were abrupt and almost rude, and that her reports were all but impossible to read.

Angelika Blendstrup & Associates performed an in-depth assessment of her writing along with a complete review of her previous work-related emails and reports. We discovered that she was self- taught—she had never taken a formal class on business writing – and that her grammar, as well as her knowledge of US written communications were spotty.

We worked intensely on her report writing skills, which included focusing on document structure, outline, and content; in addition we worked on correcting her grammatical errors.

After several strategic sessions using Angelika Blendstrup & Associates’ proven methodologies, she was able to understand why her emails were missing the mark, and she immediately changed her approach and tone—adapting them to US business standards. Her report writing improved as well. We are continuing to help her refine her work and writing skills via additional training support and monitoring.
